Ímpetu
|
| The music of Ímpetu is mainly based on latin-jazz, various South American pieces, transcriptions of well-known artists (e.g. Paco de Lucía, Garoto, Pixinguinha, Luiz Bonfá, Stevie Wonder, etc.), but in their own compositions they merge these genres with modern electronic dance music rythms and we ply developing our own musical language. The core of their music is composed and arranged, but it includes improvisational passages, solos as a strong influence of jazz. Drummer Péter Rosecker, bassist Tamás Molnár, trombonist Dávid Kovács and guitarist Tamás Király are all qualified musicians – they received their degrees in the Béni Egressy Conservatory of Budapest (of jazz drumming), the Bartók Béla Institute for Music of Miskolc (classical contrabass, classical guitar and classical trombone) and in the Academy of Performing Arts, Bratislava, Slovakia (classical guitar). The formation performs live since 2015 in various clubs of Budapest and at different music festivals of Hungary (e.g. the International Guitar Festival of Gyöngyös, the Szárnyas Sárkány Theater Festival of Nyírbátor). In May 2016 they recorded their first EP. |
